چکیده
Austenitic stainless steels that exhibit good corrosion resistance have recently found increasing applications in industry and transportation. This article addresses the influence of cold rolling deformation on pitting AISI 301LN 316L steels. The results indicate content martensite increases as reduction also increases. current work combined different techniques such optical microscopy scanning electron (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analyses. Corrosion tests were carried out, accordance ASTM standards. confirm steel performed better than 301LN, regarding corrosion, even when deformed. is due to high molybdenum (Mo) content, which guarantees greater resistance. conducted showed increase reduces overall both It was has higher susceptibility deformation-induced and, despite addition nitrogen, it still a lower performance relative steel. focused evaluating formation pits dynamics microstructures their mechanical properties saline environment including chlorides.

Corrosion and microstructural analysis data for AISI 316L and AISI 347H stainless steels after exposure to a supercritical water environment.
This article presents corrosion data and microstructural analysis data of austenitic stainless steels AISI 316L and AISI 347H exposed to supercritical water (25 MPa, 550 °C) with 2000 ppb of dissolved oxygen. The corrosion tests lasted a total of 1200 h but were interrupted at 600 h to allow measurements to be made. The microstructural data have been collected in the grain interior and at grain...
متن کاملMicro abrasion-corrosion of AISI 316L stainless steel
In this study, the synergistic effects of abrasion and corrosion on AISI 316L stainless steel have been investigated using a micro-abrasion test rig. A series of results from abrasioncorrosion tests conducted using the micro-abrasion rig are presented. AISI 316L stainless steel has been studied under both pure abrasion and abrasion-corrosion conditions simulated by either distilled water or 3.5...
متن کاملAtomic-scale decoration for improving the pitting corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steels
Stainless steels are susceptible to the localized pitting corrosion that leads to a huge loss to our society. Studies in the past decades confirmed that the pitting events generally originate from the local dissolution in MnS inclusions which are more or less ubiquitous in stainless steels. Although a recent study indicated that endogenous MnCr2O4 nano-octahedra within the MnS medium give rise ...
متن کاملDetermination of susceptibility to intergranular corrosion and electrochemical reactivation behaviour of AISI 316L type stainless steel
In this study, double loop electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (DLEPR) test was applied to determine the degree of sensitization in 316L type stainless steel, where obtained results were correlated with revealed microstructures after oxalic acid test and weight loss measurements of Streicher and Huey acid tests. Best agreement was provided with test parameters which are 1 M H2SO4 and 0...
متن کاملMicrostructure and Mechanical Properties of Cold Rolled AISI 304L and 316L Austenitic Stainless Steels during Reversion Annealing
Microstructural evolutions during annealing of cold rolled AISI 304L and AISI 316L stainless steels were studied. Cold rolled AISI 304L alloy was fully martensitic but cold rolled AISI 316L alloy was partially martensitic due to the higher stability of the austenite phase in the latter. During continuous heating to elevated temperatures, the complete reversion of strain-induced martensite at 75...
